“Making Connections” to improve the
Efficiency and Effectiveness of Innovation in Materials and Manufacturing

September 7, 2023 / Bremen, Germany
Hybrid event

Scope

The OntoTrans project consortium kindly invite you to an exchange of ideas and concepts during the OntoTrans Second Open Workshop taking place in Bremen on 7. September 2023.

Our developments in the Horizon 2020 project aim at an Ontology driven Open Translation Environment and comprise solutions of innovation challenges relying on materials modelling, materials ontology, data interoperability, software development and materials synthesis.

The workshop involves partners from academia, research institutes, SMEs and large industries. The OntoTrans project is designing semantic knowledge bases for translators which is a powerful strategy for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of innovation in materials and manufacturing value chains.

Our OntoTrans workshop will introduce industrial innovation challenges from different domains of manufacturing and reveal how managers, developers, modellers and their customers profit from involving experts for translation in materials modelling and benefit from the OntoTrans-OTE and its components to support their translation processes, workflow-executions, data analytics and visualisation of results.

The workshop will present how the semantic representation and respective exploration of knowledge can foster the innovation in materials and manufacturing based on FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Re-usable) data.

Location:

Bremen, Germany

Bremen is not only an enchanting city with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the “Town Musicians”, the second largest port in Germany, and a distinguished location for aerospace industries but also a hotspot for major research foundations. One highlight for scientifically interested visitors is the Universum Science Center.

OntoTrans partner Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials IFAM is organising the Second OntoTrans Open Workshop taking place on 7. September 2023 at the ATLANTIC Hotel Universum, right next to the famous science museum, the Bremen technology park and the campus of the University of Bremen.

Come and join us! Discuss and exchange with experts, researchers and professionals in the field of materials science, ontologies, the manufacturing industry and beyond. The participation is free of charge and we look forward to seeing you!
